Cautions
Precautions:
Bromelains, as well as fungal proteases, have a low rate of adverse effects. However, if a person is sensitive to pineapple, an allergic response to bromelains through ingestion is possible and precaution is therefore suggested. Since high dose proteases will thin the blood, caution should also be taken with patients suffering ulcers, severe gastritis, or taking blood thinning medications.
